Meet our Doctors

Maison Scheuer, DVM

Rotating Veterinarian

I grew up in Metro Detroit, MI, and earned my Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Psychology from Kalamazoo College. It was not until after graduating that I discovered my passion for veterinary medicine while interning at a wildlife center in Orange Beach, Alabama. My involvement in wildlife rehabilitation then inspired me to work as a veterinary assistant at a small animal and exotics private practice for two years before deciding to pursue my DVM at Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in Ithaca, NY.

My professional interests include zoo and wildlife medicine, but I also have a deep appreciation for small animal and exotics general practice. Throughout my veterinary journey, I have been fortunate to work with elephants in Thailand, study Columbian ground squirrels in Alberta, Canada, gain clinical experience at the Belize and San Diego Zoo, and provide veterinary care to free-ranging wildlife in South Africa. These experiences have reinforced my passion for the diversity of veterinary medicine and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact across species. I am committed to providing compassionate, high-quality care to every animal I work with.

When I’m not at the hospital, I enjoy traveling, going to the gym, spending time with friends, and frequenting local coffee shops. I am excited to advance my veterinary training in Washington, D.C. as part of the Friendship family, caring for animals alongside an incredible team.
