Meet our Doctors

Allison Haley, DVM, MRCVS, DACVIM (Neurology)

Medical Director - Specialty Care Services, Neurologist/Neurosurgeon

Neurology & Neurosurgery

I grew up just outside of Boston, MA.  Throughout my childhood I loved animals and then in high school fell in love with biology.  As I began to envision what I wanted to pursue in college, veterinary medicine seemed to be the perfect blend of these interests.

I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Maine, Orono and my veterinary degree at Tufts University.  Following my graduation from veterinary school I completed a rotating internship here at Friendship Hospital for Animals.  I then completed a Neurology specialty internship in Texas, followed by a residency in Neurology/Neurosurgery at the University of Georgia.

After completing my residency, I spent time teaching, first at the University of Glasgow and then back at the University of Georgia.  As much as I enjoyed teaching, I found that I missed the direct contact with patients and their families, so I chose to return to private practice.

Why do you work at Friendship?

I am excited to return to Friendship for many reasons.  I know many people within the organization, having had the opportunity to work with them during various points of my career, and I consider myself lucky to have the opportunity to work with them again.  Friendship fosters a collaborative approach to medicine, which I believe allows us to provide high-quality and compassionate medical care to our patients.
