Dr. Soong grew up in Hawaii and the Bay Area, then ventured to the South where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Animal Sciences from Auburn University. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Ross University and spent her clinical year at University of Florida, where she worked Emergency Medicine for a few months prior to starting her internship. She completed her rotating internship here at Friendship Hospital in DC where she truly fell in love with ophthalmology. She moved just 30 minutes away to complete her ophthalmology specialty internship at Hope Advanced Veterinary Center in Northern Virginia. She returned back to Friendship Hospital to start her comparative ophthalmology residency with Armour Veterinary Ophthalmology.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Soong enjoys going to the movies, cooking/baking (especially Hawaiian food), and trying new restaurants with friends in the DMV area. She is also a huge lover of frenchies!
